Extended 10-Year Guarantee
Brooks' extended 10-year guarantee on all our leather saddles is based on the quality and consistency of materials and the exceptional work of our craftsmen.
Handcrafted Since 1866
Our workshops have been crafting Brooks' iconic leather saddles for over 150 years.
Lasting Comfort & Breathability
Leather is a naturally breathable material that provides unique comfort. The leather top is suspended over the saddle rails to create a suspended, moulded seat, similar to a hammock, for bespoke, lasting comfort.
Shapes Over Time
Over journeys and over time, our leather naturally moulds to the rider's unique shape for a more comfortable ride.
Technical Specifications
The B135 is an urban saddle for an upright position, featuring twin rear coil springs and a double-loop front spring. A comfortable saddle for leisurely rides, it features the same top width as the B67 model but with added suspension. Perfect for city riding, the B135 is made from vegetable-tanned leather, offering a flexible performance like a hammock, which becomes more beautiful over time and moulds to the rider's body. Made in England.
F.A.Q.
Which Brooks saddle is right for me?
Our leather saddles come in different shapes and styles depending on the type of bicycle or riding position. For example, wider saddles with springs are ideal for an upright, 90-degree posture. Medium widths are generally used for touring or commuting when the rider's spine angle is in the 45 to 60-degree position. In general, the more athletic the riding position, the narrower the saddle.
Why do I need to break in my leather saddle?
New leather is tough due to the tanning process and the significant amount of manipulation involved in the moulding process at our factory. This makes the fibres very strong but also quite stiff. "Breaking in" is the process by which the saddle leather becomes softer and more pliable. Time, effort, and care are key to getting the best out of your leather saddle. Primarily through riding, the leather will conform to your body shape and become more flexible. Over time, the natural movement of the leather acts like a hammock while riding. But be careful to ensure the leather does not sag too low, as this could cause it to touch the metal structure and potentially lead to saddle failure, not to mention discomfort as you might be sitting on the upper rails or even the seatpost itself.
10-Year Guarantee
Register your leather saddle on the Brooks website within 3 months of purchase to extend the standard 2-year guarantee to a total of 10 years.
Handmade by artisans in England
Brooks England saddles are handmade in England. The leather surface may develop small cracks during the pressing process and will also bear the marks of being handmade, making each one unique. Additionally, the saddles use traditional materials such as iron and copper, and minor oxidation is normal, adding to their vintage style.
